Drug treatment and mental health

Drug treatment and addiction frequently goes hand in hand with other mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder, and an inability to healthily manage stress. In many cases, the drug use stems from an attempt to self-medicate. When these problems co-occur, recovery depends on treating them both.
